L1448-MM: water in space
One place in which it can observe not only star formation but also water jets is the L1448 dark cloud in Perseus molecular cloud In particular there is an interesting object, L1448-MM that presents two bright spots of emission, the cross (A) and the star (B) in the following figure This two particular emission points are subject of the research published in 2010 in which researchers find traces of water in the protostar studied Now a new research (2011) seems to try the prove that these are water jets: The observations data are obtained within the "Water in star-forming regions with Herschel" (WISH) programme, using Herschel/HIFI spectroscopy.
